There shall be four semester examinations namely Semester I, Semester II, Semester III, and Semester IV, respectively, to be conducted by the University at such dates and times as notified by the University. Each paper shall be of 100 marks out of which 60 marks will be for End Semester examination and 40 marks will be for internal assessment.

The 2 year full time MA in Applied Psychology at NERIM School of Social Science is conducted as per the prescribed regulations and syllabi of Dibrugarh University.
As per regulation of Dibrugarh University, the MA in Applied Psychology programme consists of Four Semesters of six months duration each having two semesters per year. Each semester will cover 400 marks and every paper of each semester will carry 100 marks. The break up of marks in each paper shall be 40 marks for Internal Assessment and 60 marks for End Semester Examination. Apart from the theory papers the course also includes paper on psychological practical in the Second and Fourth semesters and one internship programme in Fourth semester respectively.

Total no. of Papers: 20 along with Dissertation.
Any candidate who possesses a Bachelor degree in any stream including medical and technical graduates from Dibrugarh University or any other university recognized by the UGC with at least 45% (40% for SC/ST/OBC) marks is eligible to apply for admission into the Master of Applied Psychology (2-year full time) programme.

A student of M.A. Applied Psychology (2 year programme) shall have to attend minimum 80% of total classes in each paper to be eligible to appear in each semester end examination.
- A candidate shall be entitled to a maximum of 3 chances to clear the M.A. Applied Psychology Programme including the first examination.
- There shall be 8 (eight) courses in the second-year M.A. Applied Psychology module including a project work of 100 marks of which 7 (seven) courses will be compulsory and 1(one) course will be optional. In each course 30% of marks shall be earmarked for internal assessment/ group discussion/ practical/ presentation of project report and remaining 70% for the end term examination.
- A student failing in not more than 2 (two) courses shall be allowed to clear these courses in the next subsequent regular examination.
- A candidate shall have to pass in all the papers separately. The maximum pass marks for each course shall be 45% .
- Examination of the programmes shall be conducted as per the Dibrugarh University Examination Ordinance, 1972 (As amended).
- Declaration of result: A candidate who has duly passed the MA (Applied Psychologxamination shall be declared to have qualified for the award of relevant degree.
- Each candidate who has successfully passed in all the four semesters of the programme shall be awarded the Degree of Master in Applied Psychology with grade/marks secured.
- The absolute grading system shall be applied in evaluating performance of the students.
- A candidate shall secure at least 'P' grade to pass a course, taking into consideration the In-Semester and End-Semester marks together.
- The Letter Grade "B" and above shall be considered as First class and Letter grade(s) "B" to "P" shall be considered as Second class. However, Letter grade "B" shall be considered as Second class, with minimum of 55% marks.
